Artist Statement

         In this semester, I tried to make the artwork and let it seem beautiful in the art class. I think I am very happy. Although I felt tired and irritability. They call dreamcatcher and Ojos de Dios. The dreamcatcher is means parents have good wishes for their children. The Ojos de Dios means the eye of god. The dreamcatcher is a handmade willow hoop, on which is woven a net or web. The dreamcatcher may also include sacred items such as certain feathers or beads. The Ojos de Dios is woven with yarn and wood, often with several colours.

         I used yarn and wood for Ojos de Dios. I used the metal ring, yarn, feathers and pom pom for dreamcatcher. I used the dark green, green, white yarn and two woods to make the Ojos de Dios, I let it like the square. I held the yarn let it keep like a small square. Then I follow the steps of the teacher to continue winding. I need in order to keep it, if I don't, it will be deformed. So I need in order to careful. About the dreamcatcher, I use the metal ring, blue and green yarn, colourful pom pom and red feathers. I need to hold where I start wrapping. I think it is hurt. When I finished it, I will start to use the green yarn. The blue yarn is just changing the metal ring's colour. I wrap the thread to make the webbing. And let it look like the spiral. You need to remember the way you wrap it. I think that is the difficult point. Then I put the colour pom pom and feathers. The dreamcatcher's colour have a little dark. But the pom pom is colourful. Why I use those colours? Because of a picture. The picture is like the black and white. However, on the ground, a small grass in the picture is green. I believe that this is very beautiful and has the deep meaning. And the Ojos de Dios's colour is like a people's heart. Some people are very kind and weak on the surface. But their hearts are the opposite of the surface. So I used the dark and light colour.

        My goals as an artist as you can use your own works to express your own feelings and feelings. And I think I did because I asked some people and said what I was thinking and they said this is beautiful, and they can understand what I was saying. I believe that this is what I imagined. Because I did it well and I used my colour what I was thinking. And they are my favourite colour. And I can let everyone know exactly what i was thinking. If I do it again, I will tried the other colour. I will use the other mean. I will find some way does not hurt.
